Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan says Senator Juan Ponce Enrile and former President now Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada are supporting the presidential bid of Vice President Jejomar BInay.
Their body language shows it, said a confident Honasan, running mate of Binay, the standard bearer of the opposition United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) in the 2016 May elections.
Enrile and Estrada appeared at the Coconut Palace in Pasay City, the official residence of the Vice President, on Tuesday, November 10, to greet Binay on his 73rd birthday.
The body language of Enrile and Estrada during their appearance, indicates support for Binay, according to Honasan, the vice chairman of UNA.
Enrile, Estrada and Binay were the so-called “Three Kings” of UNA, which was largely credited with the victorious vice presidential campaign of Binay against Liberal Party bet Mar Roxas in the 2010 elections.
Binay will have his second encounter in the presidential race in 2016 with Roxas, the administration presidential bet.
I beat him once, I will beat him against, said a confident Binay earlier.
Binay will be fighting a four-cornered contest for the presidency with Roxas, Senator Grace Poe and Senator Miriam Santiago.
UNA, which fielded Estrada in the 2010 presidential race against then Senator Benigno Aquino (Liberal Party), was founded as an opposition coalition by Enrile, Estrada of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) and Binay, then the chairman of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
