SENATOR LOSES RESIDENCY BATTLE IN DRAFT SUPREME COURT DECISION
A draft decision by the High Court has disqualified Poe from from running for President in the May election for lack of residency requirement, according to a report in the Manila Times.
The paper quoting reliable sources said the draft decision was penned by Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo.
The paper said Castillo’s 70-page draft ponencia had already been furnished to the 14 justices of the High Court.
The source, according to the paper, said the draft ruling decided only Poe’s residency requirement and did not tackle the citizenship issue that was also raised against the Senator.
