Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s son, Christian Lawrence, ranked third in the October 2019 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examinations with a rating of 89.50 percent.
The feat was lauded by Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo who also congratulated all the 2,075 board passers of the CPA licensure exams.
But Panelo made special mention of Christian, who graduated summa cum laude from college at De La Salle University (DLSU).
“The President and the Palace wish to convey their felicitations to all the 2,075 examinees who passed this year’s Certified Public Accountant Licensure examination,” Panelo said in a statement.
“The Palace joins President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in congratulating one of his administration’s strongest allies in Congress, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, as well as his son, Christian Lawrence Go, for the latter’s performance in the said examination,” he added.
Panelo pointed out that father and son were alike in such a way that while the younger Go ranked third in the licensure exams, the older Go finished third place in the Senate race.
“As Senator Go has pointed out, he was Number 3 in the Senate race while his son is Number 3 in the CPA board exam. Indeed, this gives truth to the saying, ‘Like father, like son’,” he added.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that only 2,075 out of the 14,492 or 14.32 percent of examinees passed the licensure exams.
University of Santo Tomas (UST) graduate Justine Louie Bautista Santiago topped the licensure exams with a rating of 90.33 percent followed by University of San Carlos’ Marlou Borbon Alinsonorin at second rank with a rating of 89.67 percent.
PRC has yet to announce the date and venue of the oath-taking ceremonies. (PNA)
