

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday, October 16, said that a total of 39 persons were reported dead and close to P3 billion worth of damage has so far been recorded due to incidents wrought by severe tropical storm “Maring,”
Of the reported fatalities, 23 came from Ilocos region, two from Cagayan Valley, nine from Cordillera, and five from MIMAROPA, the NDRRMC said in a report.
NDRRMC said the estimated damage to crops, livestock, fisheries, and agricultural equipment ballooned to P2,015,859,136.
