For supporting a candidate from another party, the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino/Lakas ng Bansa (PDP-Laban) will kick out Davao de Oro Rep. Ruwil Peter Gonzaga.

Gonzaga will be thrown out for “acts inimical to the party,” according to a well-placed source inside the ruling party.

Gonzaga, the PDP-Laban Davao de Oro provincial coordinator, is supporting the gubernatorial bid of his wife, Dorothy Gonzaga, a member of the Partido Reporma chaired Alavarez, a former House Speaker.

Alvarez is the former secretary general of the PDP-Laban who broke ties with ally President Rodrigo Duterte and the ruling party to join the opposition party Reporma.

Dorothy, a former Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals, is up against incumbent Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HnP), the regional party chaired by presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Although PDP-Laban has yet to name its standard bearer, Sara Duterte is a potential presidential candidate of the ruling party chaired by President Duterte.

If Sara Duterte decides to run under the PDP-Laban, she would be locking horns with other opposition presidential bets, including Senator Ping Lacson of the Partido Reporma of Alvarez.

The anomaly on political loyalty in Davao de Oro, where reelectionist Gov. Uy will be challenged by Dorothy Gonzaga of the Reporma, who is supported by her husband Rep. Gonzaga, who is still with the PDP-Laban, is among issues raised against Rep. Gonzaga that will prompt his ouster from the PDP-Laban, said the source, who begged anonymity, who adds that PDP-Laban was expected to release soon an official statement on Rep. Gonzaga’s ouster.
