Paeng death toll rises to 110

The number of reported deaths left by Tropical Storm Paeng has climbed to 110, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Tuesday.

Of these deaths, 79 were confirmed while 31 are still for validation.

Most of the deaths were reported in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao at 59.

Sixty-three people were injured and 23 are currently missing from various locations across the country.

AS PAENG EXITS, QUEENIE ENTERS PHILIPPINES

As Paeng exits the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said another tropical depression has been tracked near Palau.

PAGASA said the new tropical depression entered PAR at 5 a.m. Monday and has been given the local name Queenie.

 Paeng is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday afternoon or evening. READ MORE

BREAKING NEWS – PAGASA: PAENG TO POSSIBLY LANDFALL IN SAMAR

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tropical Storm  Paeng could possibly landfall in Eastern Samar or Northern Samar on Friday afternoon or evening.

PAGASA said Paeng could then head west northwest and cross Bicol from Friday evening to Saturday morning, October 29, followed by another landfall in the east coast of Quezon, including Polillo Islands, or Aurora between Saturday afternoon and evening.

As of early Friday afternoon, Paeng continued to have maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. It is still expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm on Friday.
